Matthew Gregory has scooped the sought after award of best batsman for the Pagham 2007 season. This season's onlookers will remember a fantastic variety of shots and the showering of six's both at Pagham and when playing away.
Matt broke a number of records this season including highest individual score in both Saturday and Sunday cricket. He played a huge part in an opening partnership that saw Pagham reach 305 runs off 32 overs with Matt scoring 196 of them while being fantastically supported by Stuart Rutter at the other end. Matt was also able to achieve a fantastic individual stand of 144* when Pagham chose to declare. Referred to by some opposition as "the best overseas player ever to play in the Sussex Invitation League", Gregory found himself the feature of regular write-ups in local papers and on the Internet.
Matt features no less than five times for the best 20 batting performances in the league for the 2007.
