New first-team skipper John Young opened Aldwick's 2009 account with the first over against Pagham.
Aldwick bowled and fielded well reducing the opposition to 128 all out.
Debutant Grant Wilson got his team off to a good start with two for 13.
Keelan Belcher completed a run-out direct from the boundary and Pagham were reeling at 31 for four.
Dave Galea staged a recovery with 49. Skipper John Young called Galea back after he'd been out on nought.
Young, Belcher and Phil Hart were all wicket-takers, but Andy Atkins mopped up the tail with three for 20.
The reply started cautiously with Joel Lodge (13) and Adam Rutter (10) putting on 24. But wickets fell regularly – with only Ian Demers (26) and John Young (11) offering resistance and Aldwick were 77 all out. Click here to return to the News page
